30in. nitro barrels (No.1 nitro reproved, wall thicknesses just below recommended minimum), the ribs engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON, 35 CARR'S LANE, BIRMINGHAM.' (No.1 rib engraving indistinct), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke (both), treble-grip actions, automatic safeties with inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish, 14 1/2in. figured stocks including 1/2in. ebonite extensions, No.1 with escutcheon engraved 'H.C.W.V. JUNE 7TH 1902 PRESENTED BY THE CLAYDON TENANTRY', No.2 with knot at hand, weight 6lb. 10oz. (No.1) 6lb. 11oz. (No.2), in their brass-cornered leather double guncase.

Provenance: The vendor kindly informed us that that gun no. 11045 was made for and presented to Sir Harry Calvert Verney of Claydon House, Buckinghamshire by the Claydon Tenantry in July 1902, gun no 12487 was ordered by Sir Harry Verney, Bart. and completed in July 1927 to pair with the other.
